The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek is the most rewarding short trek in Nepal — seven days from Pokhara that carry you from warm mid-hill villages into a high amphitheatre of 7,000 m and 8,000 m peaks. The trail follows the Modi Khola valley through rhododendron and bamboo forest, climbs through the Gurung villages of Chhomrong and Sinuwa, and pushes through the narrow “Gateway to the Sanctuary” between Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre before opening onto the base camp itself at 4,130 m.
Unlike Everest Base Camp, there’s no mountain flight and no multi-day approach march — most trekkers are on the trail on day one and standing inside the Annapurna Sanctuary within four days. That makes ABC the trek of choice for people who want genuine high-Himalaya scenery without committing two-plus weeks or a big budget to it.
At White Pigeon Tours and Travel, we run the 7-day ABC itinerary with a licensed local guide, ACAP permit, teahouse accommodation and three meals a day built in, and we can tailor the start point (Jhinu Danda, Nayapul, or Kande) and add-ons like a Ghandruk homestay night or a side trip to Poon Hill.
